Pricing is by the square foot. Determining factors are, the number of colors, the construction, and the intricacy of the design. Retail pricing ranges from $29-$67 per square foot (all wool). For example, an 8x10 would range from $2,320-$5,360 depending on the listed factors. [top]
What size are they available in?
There are no standard sizes, the possibilities are limitless! You can design a rug in any measurement. For instance, it does not have to be exactly 8x10, it can be 7ft, 11in x 10ft, 1in if that is the size that best fits your space. You can get a rug made in an oval, octagon, or even a butterfly shape. Since all rugs are custom made, your rug can be any shape or size! [top]
What are the rugs made of? Can I add silk?
All rugs are made of 100% New Zealand wool. The wool is spun using the latest technology in spinning machines. You may add 100% silk to any design. [top]

Yes, all Deborah Benson Designs, Inc. rugs are hand tufted using different techniques to achieve various constructions and textures. Options include, cut, loop, and several needlepoint variations. [top]

How can I order a custom rug?
To order your custom rug, you can visit the showroom or call to make an appointment for an on-site consultation. The cost for an on-site consultation is $150. We will go over design ideas, color, size, and construction options to meet your specific needs and coordinate with your furnishings. A 50% deposit is required to place an order. Once the order is placed, the $150 will be credited towards your 50% deposit. [top]
Who designs the custom rug?
Deborah designs all the rugs herself. Sometimes the designs are rendered by hand using paint, and sometimes they are created using computer design programs. [top]
What if I want it to match my home furnishings?
You can bring fabric samples and/or design ideas into the showroom, but the best way to have your custom rug coordinate with your furnishings is to schedule an on-site consultation. How long does it take to receive the custom rug?
Depending on the complexity of the design, and number of colors, please allow 3-10 days for artwork. Once the artwork is submitted to the mill, you will receive a strike-off. (small sample 1ft x 1ft, or 2ft x 2ft) in 3-4 weeks. Upon approval of the strike-off, delivery time for your custom rug will be from 6-12 weeks, depending on the size of your rug and the number of colors to be dyed. [top]
How long is it expected to last?
With proper care, and maintenance, a Deborah Benson Designs, Inc. rug will last for decades. [top]
How do I clean it?
Because the rugs are 100% natural wool, drips and spills tend to bead up and do not sink into the fibers as much as they do with synthetic fibers. Wipe up spills quickly. You can purchase a spot cleaner made especially for wool at a home improvement store. Regular vacuuming will extend the life of your rug as well. [top]
